He broke every barrier

Barrier is something that prevents access to a place. In the time of old, the Holy of Holies (the earthly dwelling place of God’s presence) is only reserved for the high priests. It is a place where the presence of God dwelled, therefore, those who entered enjoyed the presence of God. Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”(NIV) Therefore, it was those who had access to the Holy of Holies that enjoyed most of the benefits that God’s presence brought. This can be said, that there was barrier to God’s presence in the time of old.
In Mathew 27:51 “And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.” The death of Jesus on the cross brought freedom to every man because the barrier to God’s presence was removed. And from that day on, every man has right to enter into God’s presence and enjoy all benefits attached to God’s presence. Some of the benefits include: good health, healings, deliverance, salvation, prosperity, fruitfulness, long life, etc.

Despite the fact that there is free access to God’s presence, there are self-imposed barriers. These are barriers that one places in order to block the already opened access. The major self-imposed barrier is sin.  Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (AMP). Even in the time of old, those who entered the Holy of holies must do so pure and holy else there would be death. The same is applicable today; you must be pure and holy to enjoy the benefits that are loaded with God’s presence.

Another self-imposed barrier is ignorance Hosea 4:6 “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.” (NIV) Some do not even have the understanding of God’s presence and do not know the benefits attached to it. With the word of God comes knowledge, therefore you need to deep yourself into God’s word. Read, study and meditate on the words and you will acquire knowledge.

Why are you not having access to God’s presence? If is sin, ask God to forgive you and give you a clean heart Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” If is ignorance, Bible is the foundation or basis of knowledge, therefore enrich your life with God’s word daily.

Word of encouragement: Jesus has removed every barrier to your both physical and spiritual benefits, therefore rejoice in the Lord knowing well that the trial and temptation will not last. Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”(ESV)

Prayer Point: Father removes every barrier that the enemies have erected to prevent me from access my heavenly benefits in Jesus name.

Do not depend on men’s promises

In wedding ceremonies are various degrees of promises between the couples, the promises are commonly titled “for better for worse”. It is sad to know that some of these promises are mere fantasies.  Jeremiah 17:5 “this is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD”(NIV).  God is against you trusting or depending on man, because man can disappoint you and this can have devastating effects on you.

In the book of Genesis 29:15-20, Laban promised Jacob Rachel for seven years labour but at the end he gave Leah instead of Rachel. This is to let you know that any promise given by man can fail at any point in time. Some can promise you because of what they want to gain from you at that time. This is a common phenomenon in political scene in Africa, the politicians will promise to construct the road, create jobs, etc.; immediately they get into the seat of power they forget all the promises and begin to satisfy their own desire of amassing wealth.

Numbers 34:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”(NIV). Whatever God says or promises will surely come to pass no matter how long it takes. God can decide to use anything to accompany His promises.  In the Isaiah 43:2, God promised that “...when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” This promise was fulfilled in Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the God of the King, they were thrown into the furnace and God was with them, the fire did not burn them Daniel 3:24.

Word of encouragement: Men may promise you heaven and earth but the only one that can deliver promises without failure is God. Therefore hold unto God, let all men be liars and God be the truth.

Prayer Point: Father let all your wonderful promises for my life come to fulfillment in Jesus name.
